I truly enjoy teaching geography to my students. I have been a teacher for the past 20 years and have found the easiest way for students to learn about a location such as Japan is by playing games.. The Geography Game is a fun geography-based game that is not only educational, but also reinforces learning through repetition and practice. There are 28 countries in the world divided into 7 geographical regions. The names of each country are then placed in a deck of cards. You will deal 4 cards to each player and the remaining cards are placed face down in a pile. You then study the cards for 5 minutes and remember their names. When 5 minutes have passed, you ask your opponent to turn the top card over from the pile. Whoever remembers the name on this card first wins it by writing it down on their sheet of paper. The loser has to circle it on their sheet. The winner then deals out another 4 cards from the pile and play resumes until all of the cards have been won or lost!

This is a map of Japan regions or prefectures. I’m sure you’ve heard of the main Japanese islands such as Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Hokkaido and Okinawa but these are not the only places in Japan.. This map of Japan’s regions and locations helped inspire the country’s new tourism slogan “Japan: Love, create, and innovate”.. I have made a simple map of Japan’s regions.
